will introduce the instructor to the basics of getting started
toward creating a course in Blackboard.
If you have

Online Training
(Optional)
PTOI, Principles and Techniques of Online Instruction. This is a
self-paced
Blackboard course for instructors on how to teach online successfully. It
is divided into six content modules:
Module 1 Foundations of Online Learning
Module 2 Course Administration in the Online Environment
Module 3 Assignments and Assessments in the Online Classroom
Module 4 Designing Curriculum Materials for the Online Classroom
Module 5 Using Virtual Learning Community Materials
Module 6 Advanced Topics in Online Instruction
Through application, you'll learn a little about how
Blackboard software works in this course, but the emphasis here is on teaching
techniques and online learning theory, not software. In other words, this is not
just about how to function online, but how to teach online with excellence.
The course can be taken in one of two ways. If you are working
on your own, you can take the course as a self-paced tutorial. Just read through
the modules you need at your own pace. You can also do the "solo assignments" to
test and apply what you learn.
