Orientation Information

Blackboard Orientation

Orientation/Assessment is REQUIRED (online OR on campus) for students who have not previously taken an online course (Sections 20, 21).

The orientation session is a vital part in making the distance learning experience successful.* It will familiarize you with the Blackboard software environment and will give you instructions on how to enter your class and access student email. If you registered late, you may have to wait 24 hours before course access is available.

Students interested in a face-to-face orientation should attend one of these sessions in the Library (Building 5) Emergent Technology Lab:

Fall Semester

  • August 15 - Noon
  • August 18 - Noon and 5:00PM
  • August 19 - Noon

If you are taking an online/hybrid course for the first time, this orientation will help you learn how to navigate your course and will give you an opportunity to ask questions.

If your instructor requires you to complete the Online Orientation click on the link below. This link will orient you to the online requirements and the Blackboard environment.
