Reserves Online
What
are reserves?
Instructors can place materials on reserve in the library in order to make
them readily available to students in their classes. Reserve items may be
print materials, audiovisual materials, or computer programs. Most reserve
materials do not leave the library; however, instructors can choose any loan
period that they feel is necessary in order for their students to complete a
particular assignment.
How
do I check out items that are on reserve for my class?
- Reserve materials are
located behind the Circulation Desk.
- Your library card is
required for you to check out any Library materials. All reserve items
must be checked out for you to use them.
- The instructor
determines the loan period, which may include overnight, 3-days, or
1-week.
- Please have title,
course name, and course number when requesting a reserve item.
- Please keep any
notebook pages in order and please do not "borrow" pages. Inform your
instructor if any notebook pages are missing, damaged, or incomplete.
What items does my instructor
have on reserve?
-
Go the
online library catalog.
-
Click on "Reserve
Desk"
-
You can search by
instructor's name, course number, or course name.
Examples:
Instructor's Name = John Smith
Course Number = ENG 113
Course Name = Expository Writing
-
Type your
instructor's last name, course number or course name in the text box
beside "SEARCH FOR."
-
Click the button
below the text box that describes the type of search you typed. For
example, if you typed an instructor's name, you would then click the
button labeled "Look up items on reserve by instructor."
-
You will then see a
list of instructors and/or course names and numbers. Click on your
instructor's name, course name or number to see a list of the items that
have placed on reserve for that class.
