Knights Take Note: BCCC Chess Club Hosts Tournament

The Beaufort County Community College Chess Club will host a chess tournament on Saturday, Dec. 1 in Building 3, Room 113. The format will be a three-round Swiss System and time control g/75;d5. There will be roughly one to two player sections, and the organizer reserves right to adjust section sizes.

The round times will be at 10:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 4:20 p.m.

There is an entry fee of $10. All registration will take place on the day of the tournament. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 9:45 a.m. so the tournament can start on time. Any registrations after that may have a first round bye. All pre-registered players will be paired and clocks started. Participants should notify tournament director if they are not going to play. There is only one half-point bye available, and it should be requested before the first round.
