The Division of Continuing
Education offers a variety of computer courses for the beginning PC
user to courses in a variety of software applications. Evening classes are typically scheduled from 6:30PM
to 9:30PM. However, courses are scheduled at various times. Courses are
offered in outlying parts of the service area. It is highly recommended that
students have either taken Introduction to Windows or have a working
knowledge of Windows prior to taking program application courses.

Intro to Computers
This introductory computer course will familiarize students with
terminology, perfecting mouse skills, saving files, formatting disks and
introduce students to computer technology by incorporating a variety of
computer programs.
PowerPoint
This program is part of the Microsoft Office software package. The 18 hour course will
cover use of the content wizards, working in slide View, merging presentations in slide
view, working with templates and more. Learn to create dynamic and impressive
presentations with PowerPoint.
Web Page Design
Students will learn to create their own web page designs in this 18 hour
course. Students will learn to work with hypertext links and use a variety
of tools such as Microsoft Word, Internet and Netscape Navigator gold. A
thorough working knowledge of Windows 95, Microsoft word 7.0, and the
internet are suggested pre-requisites.
Microsoft
Access
is the database portion of the Microsoft Office 2000 package. Students will learn database
basics, how to create databases and tables and modify these documents. In addition,
students will learn to cut, copy and Paste data and change database layouts plus many more
features and functions of the Access program in this 30 hour course. A thorough working
knowledge of Windows 95/98 is a suggested prerequisite.
PC Upgrading and Troubleshooting
This course explores the fundamentals of upgrading and troubleshooting PC's.
Students learn to identify internal components, replace drives, upgrade memory,
modems, and hard disk.

These courses are designed to meet students needs and interests by enabling learners to
take classes in the comfort of their own homes. Study at a time that is most convenient
for you, without the need for attending classes on campus. If you do not have the
necessary equipment for online courses and live in the Beaufort County Community College
Service area, you may use Brown Library, Pettigrew Libraries in Plymouth and Columbia as
well as BCCC Library to take these courses. [BCCCs Project PLACE (Public Library
Access to College Education,) provides Internet ready equipment available for

QuickBooks Online
QuickBooks is designed for the small to medium sized business owner who enjoys
Quickens ease of use but prefers a more traditional approach to accounting. Easily
set up a chart of accounts, reconcile checking accounts, create and print invoices,
receipts, accounts receivable and statements. In addition, track payables, inventory,
create estimates and more.
Requirements:
For this class Students will need QuickBooks 4.0 or 5.0 or 6.0 or QuickBooks Pro 4.0 or
5.0 or 6.0. You may order the full-featured trial version (good for 25 sessions) at no
charge. Students will also need Internet access, email, and the Microsoft Internet
Explorer or Netscape Navigator web browser.
