EKG Technician
Credential: EKG, America Society of Phebotomy

This course prepares the student to enter the medical field as a EKG Technician and to earn their certification through American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians. Course provides instruction on anatomy and physiology of the heart, including the electrical conduction system.This course also covers the cardiac cycle, common artifacts, and cardiac terminology. The student will learn skills to identify and prepare patients for correct lead placement, as well as mount and properly run an EKG.
Prerequisite: Career Readiness Certificate of a bronze or higher. Copy of certificate is due at time of registration along with a copy of a High School diploma or High School Equivalency.
Costs: Textbook-TBA, *exam fee-$90-120 (*approximate cost)
