Full Time
Academic Coordinator
- Full-time (12
month) position. Reports to the Director of
Student Support Services. Position is responsible for maintaining a
reliable framework to provide academic strategies and tutorial
assistance for students in the Student Support Services program.
Duties include recruiting, training, and supervising qualified
student tutors, maintaining accurate records, providing workshops
and seminars to build academic skills. Employee will also work as a
tutor specialist. Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
minimum. Master degree preferred. At least one year of teaching
experience. Additional experience in program management and
supervision preferred. Position available contingent upon funding.
Salary is based on the College’s salary plan and commensurate with

Custodian - Full time
position is responsible for the interior and exterior housekeeping
duties of assigned campus buildings, including but not limited to
floors, restrooms, windows, and furniture. Position also requires
unlocking buildings at scheduled times, moving and arranging
equipment and furniture, reporting maintenance problems to the
maintenance supervisor, and assisting other maintenance personnel as
needed. Work schedule is from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Individual must be
dependable, self-motivated and able to perform duties assigned
without direct supervision. Qualified candidates must be able to
lift up to 50 lbs. High School Diploma or GED preferred. Salary is
based on the College’s salary plan and commensurate with education

Police Officer - Full time position is responsible for enforcing all
state and federal laws and college policies related to the conduct and safety of
the campus community. Individual must be able to work with a diverse population.
Will perform a large number of duties on foot, including securing campus
buildings. Requires working outside in both cold and heat conditions for
extended periods of time. Position requires individual to work a flexible
changing schedule that includes nights, weekends and on-call after hours and
short notice, as needed. Qualified candidates must possess a Basic Law
Enforcement Certification and a valid NC driver’s license. Thorough background
investigation, medical and psychological exam and drug screen are required. Must
possess strong oral and written skills. Two year or four year degree from an
accredited college/university and prior law enforcement experience preferred.

Positions
Clinical Nursing Instructor - part-time position needed for Fall Semester
(August 2008). Requires BSN plus two years of clinical nursing experience and

Mechanical Engineering Technology Instructor - part-time instructional
position for day and evening classes. Duties include teaching Statics and
Strengths of Materials, Solid Modeling, and Autodesk Inventor. Associate degree
required, Bachelors degree preferred. Applications for position will be accepted

Economics Instructor - Part-time Instructor needed to teach day and/or
evening classes in introductory economics (macro/micro). Must have a masters
degree in economics or a masters degree with 18 graduate hours in economics.

English Instructor - Part-time instructor position requires master’s
degree with 18 graduate hours in English. Anticipated employment date -

Nurse Aide I - Evening Instructors - Part-time
Instructors needed to teach Instructional/Clinical classes evenings and/or every
other Saturday. Position(s) require two years experience as a registered nurse,
a current active unrestricted NC Registered Nurse License, and experience in
supervising nurse aides or teaching adults. One year experience providing care
for the elderly or chronically ill individuals of any age is also preferred.
Pay rate is $20 - 25/hour based on experience. For additional information

Math Instructors-Part-time mathematics instructors needed. Master’s
degree including 18 graduate hours in mathematics required. College teaching
experience preferred. Anticipated employment date - August 2008. Applications

Developmental Reading Instructor-Part-time position requires Reading
Certification or a Masters in Reading. Teaching experience in the community
college or with adult learners preferred. Anticipated employment date - August
