Blackboard is the campus wide software used for distance learning
classes.
Blackboard is used to teach online classes,
hybrid and web-enhanced classes.
Online:
Instructors teach courses online
via the web. Online courses and telecourses require
self-discipline, self-motivation, and hard work. Distance learning
students will not be in a classroom with the instructor. Students must
take the responsibility of completing the coursework on their own.
Online students must have basic computer skills including mastery of
email.
Hybrid: Combines the best of both worlds - Internet and seated
class.
Web-enhanced: Blackboard is used as a resource for curriculum classes.
Telcourse: Comprehensive instructional packages that include TV
based courses or videocassette programs.
This format provides an opportunity for students who do not have
computers to take distance education classes.
