Patricia Tripp Cox, a Pitt County native, has
enjoyed spending most of her life in the coastal area of
Beaufort County. Following a 30-year banking career, she
answered a call to Christian ministry in 1999 and has since
served as a Methodist pastor of two small churches in Belhaven
and Pantego. To improve her writing skills for sermons, she
enrolled in two Creative Writing classes taught by Bryan
Oesterreich. With his encouragement, she submitted a story to
Our State magazine about the Christmas shoebox relief
project sponsored by Franklin Graham's Samaritan's Purse. The
story, "Small Packages," was published in the December, 2004
issue of Our State.
