BCCC Student
Denise Taylor

I graduated from the BCCC ADN program in 1994. I have worked at PCMH for 10 years and have been promoted to a RN-IV, which is the highest level that an ADN staff nurse can go. This is one reason why I wanted to pursue a BSN. I really wanted to take as many transfer classes as possible at BCCC because it is comfortable to attend here and the learning atmosphere seems to foster closer relationships between students and instructors. I had noticed Mr. Oesterreich's story in the WDN and his philosophy attracted me into enrolling in his Expository Writing Class. This semester has been phenomenal! Even if I do not achieve my BSN for unseen reasons, this class alone has changed my life and how I can relate to people. Mr. Oesterreich inspired me to do my best and supported my efforts as well as my classmates. I am thankful to "Mr. O" and the Washington Daily News for allowing everyday students the opportunity to share our work with the community.

I am married to John Taylor and we live in Washington with our soon-to-be 13 year-old daughter, Olivia. I volunteer as an assistant for her 4-H Club leader and we are very active on the local and state level horse competitions. My family and I are members of Harvest Church. While attending Harvest Church, I experienced the events that led to my first essay, Independence Day. But I would not be where I am today if I had not had the support of my mother, Sherry Glover, who has also been an awesome role model.
