International students are citizens of another country who wish to attend Beaufort County Community College on a government visa.

The following are steps for international students seeking admission to BCCC:

1.

Complete the application found on the CFNC Website.

Complete the Residency Determination through the NC Residency Determination Service.

2.

Submit transcripts from high school and any previous colleges attended. Official transcripts must be sent to Beaufort County Community College in a sealed envelope from the original institution. All transcripts must be translated to English and college transcripts must also be evaluated. Records should include courses taken, grades received, and degrees or certificates earned.

Contacts for international transcript evaluation include:
World Education Services
Educational Credential Evaluators
Josef Silney & Associates, Inc: International Education Consultants

3.

Provide documentation of adequate financial support - either certified bank records showing an average 3-month balance of $17,420 or a notarized Affidavit of Financial Support completed by a sponsor and accompanied by an original letter from the sponsor's bank or financial institution verifying the availability of funds to support a full-time student is required.

*Please note: International students are treated as nonresidents of the State of North Carolina with respect to tuition and fees. Financial aid is not available to international students therefore international students must have sufficient funds to cover all living expenses, tuition, and fees while attending the college. Student housing is not provided by the college. Internaitonal students are expected to make their own arrangements for housing.

4.

Submit a copy of the student's current unexpired visa and a copy of the I-94 card (front and back) issued at point of entry to the U.S. to:

Admissions Office
Beaufort County Community College
5337 US HWY 264 E
Washington, NC 27889

5.

Take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and have scores sent to admissions@beaufortccc.edu or mailed to the physical address above. Minimum TOEFL scores required for admission are listed below:

Internet based - 78
Paper based - 500
Computer based - 210

Students whose country has English as its official language are exempt from the TOEFL.

6.

Once all of the above documentation has been submitted, an I-20 request will be made by BCCC Admissions staff. BCCC will mail the I-20 to the student. The student will pay the SEVIS fees and visit a U.S. Embassy to obtain an F-1 visa stamp before entering the U.S. If a student visa is not issued or if BCCC is notified by Immigration and Naturalization Services of other problems, the student will be withdrawn from the college. All other admissions procedures are also applicable to international students.

International students must check in with one of the contacts found on the right each semester to verify enrollment.

International students who do not comply with requirements of programs, procedures, or policies of the college, or legal requirements may be terminated in SEVIS with no prior notice.
