Beaufort County Community College (Beaufort CCC) is proud to celebrate mathematics instructor Ashley Knox, who has been selected to participate in the 2026 North Carolina Community College Master Instructor (NC3MI) Cohort. This prestigious statewide program recognizes exceptional faculty members who demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, innovation, and student success. Knox was nominated by her peers through Beaufort CCC’s Faculty Senate.
The NC3MI program, open to faculty from across all 58 North Carolina community colleges, blends research-based instructional strategies with leadership development to build a network of “master instructors.” The yearlong program includes an in-person kickoff, 10 online modules on effective teaching practices, and a capstone presentation where participants showcase their work to colleagues.
“Ashley’s selection is a testament to her dedication and commitment to her students, excellence in teaching, and leadership,” said Dr. Lisa Hill, vice president of academics. “We are fortunate to have Instructor Knox as one of our math instructors.”
The 2026 NC3MI cohort will begin with a statewide kickoff event in November 2025, followed by self-paced online learning modules from January through April 2026. In the spring, participants will complete a capstone project designed to highlight and share innovative classroom strategies that can be implemented across campuses.
By taking part in this program, Knox will bring new insights and proven strategies back to Beaufort CCC, directly benefiting students and contributing to a stronger culture of teaching and learning across the college.
Her selection underscores Beaufort CCC’s ongoing mission to provide high-quality, student-centered instruction and to support faculty in their professional growth.
