Beaufort County Community College has expanded its Boat Manufacture and Service program with the addition of a new night class (BTB-106) focused on boat rigging, increasing access for working students and those seeking hands-on marine training.
The college has also partnered with Suzuki Marine to offer specialized engine training as part of the program. Enrolled students will have access to Suzuki Marine courses at no additional cost.

Supporting the program’s growth, local boat dealer Avalanche Motorsports contacted Suzuki Marine and helped with the donation of a Suzuki Diagnostic System kit. The equipment will allow students to run diagnostics and troubleshoot Suzuki engines using the same technology found in professional marine service operations.
“This expansion strengthens our connection to the marine industry and gives students real-world experience with the tools they will use on the job,” said Aaron Adams, lead instructor for Boat Manufacture & Service.
The Boat Manufacture and Service program prepares students for careers in boat building, maintenance, and marine service, supporting workforce needs across eastern North Carolina.
