Beaufort County Community College (Beaufort CCC) graduates in Criminal Justice Technology now have a streamlined path to complete an online Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) in Criminal Justice through Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C.
Through the new articulation agreement, Beaufort CCC students who finish the Associate in Applied Science in Criminal Justice Technology can transfer up to 75 credit hours toward the BAAS at Lees-McRae. Students who use the Beaufort Promise Scholarship while completing their associate degree can lower the overall cost of a four-year education before moving into the bachelor’s program.
The Lees-McRae BAAS in Criminal Justice is designed for working professionals and recent community college graduates who want to expand career options and earning potential. Many professionals with an associate degree have the experience to advance but need additional education to qualify for promotions. The fully online program provides the flexibility to keep working while building credentials for roles in federal law enforcement and immigration, probation and parole, courtroom administration, victim advocacy, corrections, and law enforcement leadership.
Crystal Watts, Beaufort CCC’s lead instructor for criminal justice technology, said the online format makes advancement more accessible for students balancing jobs and family.
If you are completing or have completed the Criminal Justice Technology associate degree at Beaufort CCC, this pathway can help you finish your bachelor’s degree faster and at a lower cost.
