Are you transitioning out of the military and preparing for a civilian career? The Department of Defense (DOD) SkillBridge Program at Beaufort County Community College (BCCC) provides the perfect opportunity for service members to gain valuable training and experience in a civilian career field before completing their military service.
The DOD SkillBridge Program is a career transition initiative designed to help service members bridge the gap between military and civilian employment. Through this program, active-duty military personnel can participate in job training, internships, and certification programs during the last 180 days of their service. These opportunities help participants gain industry-specific skills, certifications, and experience to prepare for rewarding civilian careers.
At BCCC, we are proud to support our nation’s heroes as they transition into the workforce. Our programs are tailored to meet industry needs and provide real-world, hands-on training to ensure you are job-ready.
Currently, BCCC offers three DOD SkillBridge-approved programs:
Approved for all branches of the military, this academy provides comprehensive training in firefighting techniques, safety protocols, and emergency response. Graduates are well-prepared to enter a career in fire service, a profession known for its dedication and service to the community.
Also approved for all branches of the military, the EMT program equips participants with essential skills for emergency medical care. This program prepares service members to earn certifications and confidently step into roles in the fast-paced and critical field of emergency medical services.
Also approved for all branches of the military, the BLET program equips participants with the skills required for entry level employment as law enforcement officers with state, county, or municipal governments, or with a private enterprise. Graduates are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to begin a career in law enforcement, a field recognized for its commitment to public service and community protection.
