Frequently Asked Questions

In an effort to keep our students and the public at large informed about the college's operations, we have compiled a list of questions we anticipate being asked frequently as we continue to respond to the Coronavirus.

How do I access my courses that were meeting face to face or hybrid?

All course content is being delivered via Blackboard. Blackboard can be accessed from the top menu bar from any page on the College website or at https://beaufortccc.blackboard.com.

How do I contact my faculty advisor or an instructor?

Email is the best method of initial communication to your faculty advisor or instructor. The email address for all employees is available online at http://www2.beaufortccc.edu/directory.

I’ve tried to call my faculty advisor or instructor and there is no answer or way to leave a voicemail. How can I contact them?

All faculty and advisors will be telecommuting beginning 3/16/2020 for everyone's safety. Email is the best method of initial communication. What can I do if I don’t have access to reliable internet at home?

  • While our Library on the main campus will remain open, as of April 6, you will need to make an appointment with Ms. Paula Hopper, the director of the Library, at 252-940-6243 or at library@beaufortccc.edu to gain entrance to the facility in Building 5. Please call or email at least one hour in advance of your visit to access the library.
  • Students in Hyde County, Tyrrell County or Washington County can access one of the BCCC regional centers to use a computer lab.
  • The Hyde County-Davis Center in Engelhard (33460 US Hwy 264) is open from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Monday-Thursday.
  • The Washington County Center in Roper (100 NC Hwy. N.) is open from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Monday-Thursday.
  • Tyrrell Hall has a mobile computer lab that is open from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Monday-Thursday.
  • Please contact your instructor or faculty advisor to discuss your situation.

Is the bookstore open?

The BCCC Bookstore is staying open. You can still enter the top level of Building 5. Follett is offering free ground shipping on all online orders.

Can I still complete the admissions process?

Students needing assistance with applications, residency, or high school or college transcript submissions should email admissions@beaufortccc.edu.

Admissions staff will answer emails in 24-hours or less. We can virtually assist students with any admissions needs. Applications and residency determinations will be ongoing daily.

Students with allied health admissions questions should email ashley.rose@beaufortccc.edu and she will give direction on admissions procedures, deadlines, TEAS testing, etc.

How do I get a copy of my BCCC transcript?

Go to studentclearinghouse.org, click on the green Order-Track-Verify button, select Order a Transcript and then carefully follow the prompts.If you have any questions or problems, please email registrar@beaufortccc.edu.

How do I apply for graduation?

Our graduation application can be found on the BCCC website.From the homepage, click on About BCCC and then select Forms under the Helpful Resources heading.Once on the Forms page, type the word graduation in the search box and then click on the link to the Graduation Application.If you have any questions about graduation, please email registrar@beaufortccc.edu.

How do I withdraw from a class?

Email your instructor from your BCCC email address to let them know that you wish to withdraw from their class. Ask them to respond to you with your official Last Date of Attendance. Using your BCCC email account, forward their email response to registrar@beaufortccc.edu along with your request to withdraw from the class.

How do I register for classes?

To view BCCC’s course offerings, click the Class Schedule option in the banner at the top of the BCCC homepage.You can log in to Self Service (which is also accessible from the banner at the top of the BCCC homepage) to plan out your class schedule and submit it to your faculty advisor for their approval.If you have any questions about registering, please contact your faculty advisor for assistance. If you do not know who your advisor is or have not yet filled out an application for admission, please contact admissions@beaufortccc.edu.

Can I still work with TRIO staff?

The TRIO/Student Support Services staff will be available via email and telephone. Students can receive academic coaching and possibly tutoring by scheduling sessions with TRIO staff. Zoom or Skype may be available for use in tutoring. All currently scheduled meetings will take place on the telephone. Mid-term progress report meetings will be done by telephone. College transfer and scholarship search assistance is available by telephone and email. The grant aid process will be handled via email unless the college is in full session by that time. Additional workshops are available electronically. Staff will also mail information to students who indicate that they have no internet availability. What should I do if I have questions about financial aid?

Students needing financial aid assistance with financial aid inquires, FAFSA assistance or general questions should email finaid@beaufortccc.edu or call 252.940.6222. All emails and phone calls will be returned within 24-business hours or less. Students may submit financial aid documents via email to finaid@beaufortccc.edu or fax 252.940.6393. Students can check the status of awards and check their financial aid status via the student portal, Self-Service.

What should I do if I need counseling or accessibility services?

Students needing assistance with accessibility services, academic, career, or personal counseling, and/or placement testing interpretation/clarification and referral services should email Kimberly.Jackson@beaufortccc.edu. The counseling department staff will answer emails in 24-hours during office hours (M-Th, 8-5 and F, 8-4) and provide support via email and/or phone. Through these means we can assist students with counseling and accessibility services needs. For help with crisis situations involving mental health needs, developmental disabilities, or substance abuse issues call 1-866-437-1821, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

How can I make payments on my student account or set up a payment plan?

Online payments with a debt or credit card are highly recommended at this time. Log into BCCC Self Service and click on Student Finance. You can check your account balance, make a payment, or set up a payment plan.

Who should I contact with technology support related questions?

You can email issues, questions, or concerns to itsupport@beaufortccc.edu or contact via phone at 252-940-6300 if there is an immediate concern. In addition, the IT Support team is available Mon-Fri 7:30am-5:30pm in the IT Support Virtual Meeting Room for live assistance.

Can I still register and pay for Continuing Education classes?

Yes, the Building 8 Continuing Education Registration & Records remains open to the public Monday-Thursday from 8am-5pm and Friday from 8am-4pm. You can also call 252-940-6375 or email continuingeducation@beaufortccc.edu. Online registration & payment is also available for qualifying continuing education classes and can be accessed at https://www.beaufortccc.edu/continuing-education/general-information/registration.
