Meet Our Ambassadors for 2025-2026

The Beaufort County Community College Foundation chose ten students to represent Beaufort County Community College (Beaufort CCC) as ambassadors for the 2025-2026 academic year. Ambassadors represent the diversity of aspirations, backgrounds, and interests of the BCCC student body through speaking engagements, marketing and recruitment. They are nominated and selected by a committee to represent the college.

Lexie Alligood, 17, is a Pinetown resident and enrolled in Beaufort County Early College High School. She is the daughter of Aimee West and Christopher Alligood. Alligood volunteers at Eastern Elementary and ECU Beaufort Hospital. She plans to attend an in-state university majoring in education and is a part of the National Honors Society. 

Trevon Barrett Little is a Washington resident and a criminal justice technology student. He attended North Pitt High School and plans to obtain his master’s degree at a North Carolina university.

Saoirse Casey, 16, is a dual-enrolled student at Beaufort County Early College High School and a Washington resident. Outside the classroom, Casey is active in the performing arts as a member of the Not Quite Shakespeare Productions theater group. She was honored with the Rotary Youth Leadership Award for her initiative and potential as a young leader. After earning her associate degree, Casey plans to transfer to UNC Wilmington to study biology. 

Derrick Chavis, 20, is a Washington resident who works as a work-study student in the marketing department at Beaufort CCC. The Washington High School graduate volunteers at his church on the media team. Chavis is an Associate in Arts student and plans to transfer to a four-year university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in social work. He is the son of Kimberly Jones and Derrick Chavis, Sr. 

Zofia Cheeseman is an Associate in Arts and an Associate in Science student. She attends Beaufort County Early College High School. 

Valeria Cordova Guerrero, 15, is a Beaufort County Early College High School student and a Belhaven resident. Cordova Guerrero is currently working toward both an Associate in Arts and an Associate in Science, along with a Certificate in Community Spanish Interpreter. She is active in youth groups and has volunteered at events such as Smoke on the Water, the Special Olympics, and early college tours. A member of the National Honor Society and a Character Trait Award nominee, she plans to become a radiologist. She is the daughter of Karina Guerrero and Jesus Cordova. 

Michael Furlough, 17, is a Chocowinity resident and attends Beaufort County Early College High School. He works at Ribeye’s steak house and works at Beaufort CCC as an computer/IT tech. Furlough plans to attend a four-year university to get his bachelor’s degree in computer science and criminal justice. 

Madi Haddock, 21, is a Jamesville resident and attended Northeast Regional School of Biotechnology and Agriscience (NERSBA). Haddock plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in zoology and become an exotic animal rehabilitator. She works at Mama’s Pizza, and she pet sits and babysits on the side. Haddock is also a member of Gamma Beta Phi, a national honor society focused on scholarship, service, and character. She is the daughter of Chris and Crystal Haddock. 

Jaden Hooten, 20, is a Belhaven resident and received his GED at Beaufort CCC. He is active in the Fine Lines music club on campus and attends the Fountain of Life Church. 

Elli Pake, 17, is a Washington resident and Beaufort County Early College High School student who is working toward both an Associate in Arts and an Associate in Science. Pake plans to attend medical school and become an obstetrician/gynecologist. She works as a lifeguard at Moore Aquatic and Fitness Center and is active in the community by teaching both dance and swim lessons. Pake is the daughter of Scott and Emily Pake.
