Things with Scales (1st grade to rising 4th)

Let’s have a look at reptiles and amphibians. Frogs, lizards, salamanders, and such. But don’t worry. We will not bring any snakes into our classroom! Four days of slippery fun and a fieldtrip to our wetlands.

Arts, Crafts & Cupcakes (1st grade to rising 4th)

Four days of fun things that include carry home art projects. On the last day we will practice the art of cupcake decorating.

Things With Wings (1st grade to rising 4th)

Birds, butterflies, bees, even chickens are our daily subject. Each student will build a bluebird house for their very own. Crafts and fun!

STEAM Stuff (1st grade to rising 4th)

Art and science come together for 4 days. Make a terrarium of your own. Build a pyramid. A week of lively fun learning.

Things With Fins (1st grade to rising 4th)

Sharks teeth. Print T-shirts with fish from our river. Porpoises and airplanes have fins too.

Drip Draw Color & Paint (1st grade to rising 4th)

Every day this week we will create a carry-home project using a different medium. Art everywhere!

Pinewood Derby(1st grade to rising 4th)

Rain Gutter Regatta (1st grade to rising 4th)

Learn about sailboats and how they move so smoothly through the water. Cut, assemble, and paint your own boat for the final race. Invite family and friends for the Thursday afternoon regatta. Lunch is included.

Pottery For Youth

Pottery Camps

Get your hands in wet clay and have some fun turning that lump into something useful and beautiful. We will use hand building, coiled construction, and wheel thrown techniques. Apply colorful glazes, fire the pottery, and feel very proud!

Intro Performing Arts Camp (3rd-5th grade)

Do you love singing and dancing? Are you always hamming it up in class and at home? Then we have a place for you at the Turnage Theatre. The Introductory Performing Arts Camp is the place to start a lifelong practice in singing, dancing, and acting. This camp will be open to students in grades 3-5, and aims to introduce them to the world of stage performance as we work to create a production of Disney’s Aristocats Kids. This camp will meet Monday-Friday, June 15th-June 26th and there will be a performance on Saturday, June 27th, and Sunday, June 28th, at 4pm all at the Turnage Theatre. Your students can be dropped off at the Turnage Theatre as early as 8am and picked up as late as 1pm but camp activities will begin at 9am and end at 12pm. Please also note if your student will require a lunch, provided by the BCS summer meals program.

Intro Visual Arts (3rd-5th grade)

A camp for creative kids! This camp is open to students in grades 3-5 and will teach them about many different types of art and ways to make it. Students will get hands-on experience creating something incredible. Camp will be Monday-Friday from June 15th to June 19th. Your students can be dropped off at the Turnage Theatre as early as 12pm and picked up as late as 5:30pm. but camp activities will begin at 1pm and end at 4pm. Please also note if your student will require a lunch, provided by the BCS summer meals program.

Advanced Performing Arts Camp (5th-12th grade)

Join the cast and get on stage! The Advanced Performing Arts Camp is a camp open to rising 5th-12th grade students and aims to give students a chance to give acting their all. Over the course of four weeks you will audition for, get cast in, rehearse, and perform a Broadway musical from start to finish. No previous experience necessary, just a good attitude! There will be three performances, July 31st at 7pm, August 1st at 2pm, and August 1st at 7pm, all of which will be at the Turnage Theatre. Your students can be dropped off as early as 8am and be picked up as late as 5:30pm but camp activities will begin at 9am and end at 4pm. All students will have a lunch provided through the BCS summer meals program.

Stagecraft (5th-12th grade)

Every performance needs a set and props! Be a part of creating a spectacle from behind the curtain. Students in the Stagecraft camp will create the set and prop elements for the Advanced Performing Arts camp. Open to rising 5th graders to 12th graders. Your students can be dropped off at the Turnage Theatre as early as 8am and picked up as late as 1pm but camp activities will begin at 9am and end at 12pm. Please also note if your student will require a lunch, provided by the BCS summer meals program.

Visual Arts Camp (5th-12th grade)

Visual arts camp at the Turnage Theatre will let you explore many different types of art and walk away with many different masterpieces. Learn about how art is made and have fun making it. Open to rising 5th grades to 12th graders. Your students can be dropped off at the Turnage Theatre as early as 12pm and picked up as late as 5:30pm. but camp activities will begin at 1pm and end at 4pm. Mural Camp (5th-12th grade)

Art and history will be combined in this week of creative fun. Students will learn about the subject of the mural they will paint over five afternoons. It will then be displayed in a public place for all passersby to admire and appreciate. Your students can be dropped off at the Turnage Theatre as early as 12pm and picked up as late as 5:30pm. but camp activities will begin at 1pm and end at 4pm. Please also note if your student will require a lunch, provided by the BCS summer meals program.

Music Production Camp

Each day a different age group will be welcomed to become budding music producers. We will explore aspects of music production including sound managing, recording studio production techniques, stage presence, managing social media, and more. Your students can be dropped off at the Turnage Theatre as early as 8am and picked up as late as 1pm but camp activities will begin at 9am and end at 12pm. Please also note if your student will require a lunch, provided by the BCS summer meals program.

Kitchen Camp 1 (rising 5th-9th grade)

Four days of cooking, baking, and delicious food making! Things like chocolate chip cookies, crudites with homemade ranch dressing, wacky cake, fruit and cheese charcuterie board, grilled cheese sandwiches, and Anita’s favorite apricot dip and ginger snaps. We will send home something for families to enjoy every day.

Kitchen Camp 2 (rising 5th-9th grade)

Each day we will explore and produce good food that young chefs can make at home. Day 1; Appetizers and Snacks, Day 2: Delicious Sides, Day 3; Main Courses, Day 4; Desserts. There will be something to take home everyday to impress friends and family.
