The Arc of Beaufort County, in partnership with the family of Stan Hudson, has donated a picnic table to Beaufort County Community College in his memory. Nina Buckman, a board member of the organization, initiated the idea.
Stan Hudson had a heart for serving individuals with disabilities. Each year, he coordinated opportunities for students to spend the day on his property, enjoying model cars, hayrides, and games, all surrounded by food and laughter. He provided leadership and a welcoming space for area residents connected to The Arc of Beaufort County.
The picnic table is a heartfelt thank-you from The Arc of Beaufort County for Stan’s many years of service and dedication to the community.
The Arc of Beaufort County promotes the basic human rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) by working with and for them and their families through advocacy and service. They feel that every person has the right to live, learn, work, play and worship in the community as independently as possible with supports as necessary to be successful.
