Writing Club Collecting Submissions for Gully Review

Write On!, BCCC's creative writing club is collecting entries for the English department’s literary journal The Gully Review. This year, the club is calling for submissions of previously unpublished poems, short stories, and creative nonfiction essays. All current BCCC students are eligible. The club defines a previously published work as “a text that has been printed and distributed, or made digitally available, prior to being submitted for consideration.”

• Content: Submissions are limited to one entry of prose (1,500-word maximum) or one entry of poetry (3-poem maximum).
• Deadline: December 31, 2023.
• Guidelines: To submit, attach your work as a Word document in an email to the club. Include your name and contact information in the email. Do not include your name or contact information on the attached submission(s).

Submissions will be blindly assessed and, if chosen, published in the second annual edition of The Gully Review. The publication date has yet to be determined for the 2023-2024 academic year; however, winners will receive one printed copy of the journal for free once it has been published online and made available to the public via the BCCC website.
